A bit about me

Outside of work I generally like smug, self-satisfied indie movies, playing bad covers of early 70s Neil Young songs, cold showers, Wim Hof breathing , intermittent fasting, cooking anything from Meera Sodha’s East (when not fasting), Seinfeld, Simpsons, Sunny in Philadelphia (the big 3), Alastair Green, Jazz Emu, Talking Sopranos, Tim Ferriss, DIY projects that barely pass as finished, debating becoming a therapist, debating going to therapy first, threatening to revisit my old pilot scripts, dreaming about finally learning to skateboard, being a dad of 2 noisy barbarians, drinking coffee and chatting complete and utter shite with anyone who’ll listen.

Inside of work, I’ll defer to people who’ve experienced it first hand (if you’d like the names, just ask):

“Be brilliant. And be kind. That’s basically the two things I believe make a great creative. Mark is both. In spades. He puts his heart and soul into every brief he tackles, and does that wonderful thing of answering the brief the first time, then surprising you with a couple of ‘other’ ideas he’s had up his sleeve. And he’s a bloody lovely bloke. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with Mark. If you are reading this and contemplating offering him a job, do it. He will never let you down.”

Chairwoman/Chief Creative Officer

”Mark is a highly competent and reliable creative star. His high emotional intelligence enables him to empathise with the requirement to engage the audience but also inspire the creatives to stay on track to deliver their best work within the defined creative territories. From a client services point of view, he understands how he can support us and is an honest and genuine asset on any project.”

Client Engagement Director

”Mark is a very talented creative leader within our business. He is versatile and brings fresh thinking, an interesting perspective and good energy  across the range of portfolio clients. I know I’m in safe hands when Mark is leading the creative work.”

SVP, Client Engagement

”A great creative to work with. Naturally collaborative and equally impressive working either to a tight brief or a loose exploratory conversation. Is able to grasp complicated problems quickly, savvy enough to sort through the marketing BS and agile enough to flex his own thinking to get to better answers.”

Chief Strategy Officer

“There are the creatives who just respond to the brief in front of them. Mark isn’t one of those, and for me that’s the greatest compliment I can give him. He’s a proper, big ideas, lateral concept creative.”

Department Head, Strategy

“I had the pleasure of working with Mark for two years. He has a first class mind and a first class attitude. He has the ability to develop simple coherent thoughts and make them look and feel spectacular. He is an extremely contemporary type of creative. He writes beautifully. In short wherever he goes, he'll make a real impact and a big difference.”

Creative Director

”Mark is a non-traditional creative who thinks differently. He's one of those people who is fascinated in the world and people, and is at his best when coming up with contemporary ideas that leverage what's going on in the real world. Marks also a very nice guy. He's easy to work with, listens and takes direction and genuinely loves ideas.”

Executive Creative Director

”Mark is an exceptional creative, with a genuine passion for making great ideas happen. We worked on a number of global projects together and I was always impressed with Mark's ability to cut-through with thought-provoking ideas and his wonderful ways with words. A valuable member to any team!”
